You are likely NOT being hired as a sales manager. This is a common ploy of insurance agencies. You are being hired as a line agent. You are self-employed under contract to the company. You are "managing" your own practice. You would probably not be considered for an agency management position unless you consistently reached MDRT production levels at for least two consecutive years; then you would be making enough money and growing quickly enough that you probably wouldn't be interested in the management track.
